“I recommend Hand Waves Birth Services! They are champ, wonderful, and beautiful people. They are so supportive and they solved my problem.”

Hello I’m Caitlyn. I wanted to share my experience with Hand Waves Birth Services. I was pregnant with my second child two years ago, and I had already decided that I wanted placenta encapsulation. So, I researched who in my area could do that and through a Facebook post, many people in the community recommended Hand Waves Birth Services. I reached out and set up a prenatal meeting with them. They came to my house, and we sat around, chatted about everything: my first pregnancy, this (my second) pregnancy, and everything in between. I told them I understood the benefits of the encapsulation, but honestly I was nervous and I was not looking forward to taking them three times everyday because I did not like the smell, they smelled like iron, metallic. Everyday I would have to open the jar, take them by mouth, and bear doing that in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Suppose after I swallow them, and later I burp, I would taste the metal again, and I would go through that all day. I understood the benefits, and I really wanted to do it, but at the same time, I don’t want to do it. They shared that since I didn’t like the taste and smell, I confirmed that was basically it, I didn’t, and they told me that they might have a solution for it. I asked them how could they solve the taste and the smell? They said they could mix it with chocolate. I was surprised! What?! You can do that?! Yes! I wanted that! This was actually possible. After the baby was born, they came to the hospital for a brief visit. I gave them the placenta, they took it, and did their magic to it. Three days later, they came to the house again. They brought the chocolate bars, it was like candy! The chocolate was split into pieces, I can’t remember how many there were- probably 20 or more. They said it depended on the size of the placenta, but it was plenty! Everyday I looked forward to taking the chocolates. It was a win-win situation for me. They also helped me change my memory, I am now able to have a positive memory of taking the placenta rather than dreading it- tasting awful, smelling awful. It was nothing like that. Yes, I recommend Hand Waves Birth Services! They are champ, wonderful, and beautiful people. They are so supportive and they solved my problem. Bye!

“As they were working on it, they showed me everything, videos and pictures of the process. I was amazed when I saw them, it was a champ procedure! They did very well with sanitizing the area with proper health procedures.”

Hello my name is Dolly Gardner. I had Brittany and Ally’s doula service for encapsulation of my placenta. When I was getting ready to give birth, I reached out and let them know that I was ready to have the baby. They were ready and all set to pick up my placenta after birth. After birth, I let the nurse know that they were coming to pick it up. After picking it up, they came to my home, my mom was there while I was at the hospital for two days. As they were working on it, they showed me everything, videos and pictures of the process. I was amazed when I saw them, it was a champ procedure! They did very well with sanitizing the area with proper health procedures. It was clean and no blood-borne kind of thing. They wore gloves, and spread things out. It was a two day procedure because of the dehydration part. After it was done, everything was clean as if nothing was ever there. I learned through the process and it was a champ service. They are sweet and transparent about everything. So I wanted to thank you for your service! You are champ and I would definitely refer others to you.

Kristina & Andy

“When they were working on it, they sent us pictures with details from the beginning to the end when it became capsules.”

Kristina & Andy: Hello!

Andy: I want to share our experience with Hand Waves Birth’s service with our third kid. We used their placenta encapsulation service. We had a discussion and several questions that we were unsure about, so we reached out to them and set up a meeting.

Kristina: After we had that meeting, they explained their vision, what the procedure would look like. Wow, they were very warm, very welcoming, and we had a great discussion. After that, we felt confident with our decision so we arranged everything.

Andy: We were very comfortable working with them. As time went on, after she gave birth, we put the placenta in a cooler and met up with them. They took the placenta and started the process.

Kristina: When they were working on it, they sent us pictures with details from the beginning to the end when it became capsules. When they gave the jar to us, I was so fascinated! Not only that, they had artwork too! See the print behind us [points to the framed print on the wall behind them] So cool right! It is so beautiful and we put it up in our daughter’s bedroom.

Andy: The placenta is fascinating! They provide different services that we are still using such as elderberry syrup, which helps boost up our immune system. We’ve been continuously using that. Cool!

Kristina: They are so delicious that I could drink the whole thing, but better not!

Andy: Yes, it is so good! Really, bottom line, they’re both wonderful people to work with. Wonderful!

Kristina: Definitely!

Andy: We would like to congratulate you on your five years of your continued success and more years coming up!

Kristina & Andy: Congratulations! Thank you!

“As a first time mom, I wanted to take advantage of many possible ways to make my transition into motherhood as easy as possible. Placenta pills was one of them so I was glad I was able to use Hand Waves Birth’s Service as one of the options.”

Hi, I’m Krystal and I have a three month old baby who was born in October 2020. I used Hand Waves Birth’s placenta service. I had heard many positive things about consuming your placenta after birth so I was interested in doing that for myself. I was excited when I found out that Hand Waves Birth provided that service because they are a deaf organization and I was able to learn more about it through ASL [American Sign Language]. The process was transparent and quick. They picked up the placenta the same day I gave birth, and then brought the pills back to me two days later. I took the pills up until Sage was almost three months old. So it was three months worth of that, which felt it was worth my money. Placenta pills have a lot of benefits like, stabilize moods, reduce stress, increase breastmilk supply, and increase the level of iron. As a first time mom, I wanted to take advantage of many possible ways to make my transition into motherhood as easy as possible. Placenta pills was one of them so I was glad I was able to use Hand Waves Birth’s Service as one of the options. I felt it really helped me as a first time mom, and I would do it again. If any of you are interested, you can definitely ask Hand Waves Birth, Brittany and Ally any questions, and they would be happy to answer them. Thank you again for supporting me as a first time mom. I wouldn’t be able to do this without you two. Thank you.

Reut & Noah

“I admire my connection with my son and the placenta. Taking the encapsulation helped me with having energy and with breastfeeding. It is what my body created, gave birth to and then I consume it for myself.”

Reut: Hello! We used Hand Waves’ Placenta encapsulation service. It is when the placenta comes out and they turn it into encapsulation. We also got a placenta print/art (complimentary), and we put the framed placenta print in our bedroom. It is heart-felt when I look at it.

Noah: Yes.

Reut: It is our son’s first roommate, and I feel a connection to it.

Noah: Yes.

Reut: Sometimes I will tell my son to look at it, and explain that he was in my belly and this was his first roommate, his connection inside me. I admire my connection with my son and the placenta. Taking the encapsulation helped me with having energy and with breastfeeding. It is what my body created, gave birth to and then I consume it for myself. I was inspired by what the placenta could do for me, and I was excited about taking it. Thank you Hand Waves Birth Services for making this happen, creating encapsulation from my placenta. Love you!

Noah: Yes, thank you.

Shana & Kyle

“It was nice because when they stopped by, they helped me process my birth experience. We were able to really talk about it, and that was really nice.”

Shana: Hi, I’m Shana.

Kyle: I’m Kyle.

Shana: We used Hand Waves Birth [shows HWB sign] placenta pills service.

Kyle: The process with the placenta was effective and fast. After the birth at the hospital, we texted Brittany and Ally to let them know that the placenta was ready. They said they would meet me at the front of the hospital lobby. I put the placenta in the cooler with ice, and met them there. I gave the cooler to them and they left. It was nice that throughout the process, they texted us pictures of what they were doing with the placenta. They steamed it, took off the skin, dehydrated it, and put it into powder. They shared pictures of everything, and I was like “Whoa!” I didn’t even know what the process looked like. It was nice seeing all of that.

Shana: After the pills were ready, they stopped by our home and dropped off the pills. They also gave us framed placenta art. It was nice because when they stopped by, they helped me process my birth experience. We were able to really talk about it, and that was really nice. After that, when I took the pills, I truly felt like they helped me because my hormones were not stable, and it helped me regulate my emotions and everything. I felt I really benefited from it. And if…

Kyle: If we have a second child, for sure we will do it again.

Shana: Yes.

“I felt that the nutrients my body gave the baby came back into me, that was really meaningful, and very important.”

Hello! I really appreciate Hand Waves Birth’s service. What they did for me was, they took my placenta and encapsulated it into capsules, tincture, and placenta art. It was really nice – heartwarming. More specifically on why I really appreciate their service is because I did not feel like I had to invest much in the planning. They did everything for me. They told me to just text them when I was in labor, and when I gave birth. They were ready and came immediately. They told me they would provide as much support as I would like, whether it would be a lot of support or a bit. I appreciate them respecting my boundaries. They had respect for our space, our time, and I truly like them. I would definitely use them again. I took the placenta capsules, and it seemed to help. I can’t compare the experience with and without the encapsulation, as it was my first pregnancy. It seems that I had a quick recovery, breastfeeding went well, my moods were stable, and I lost weight gradually. I felt that the nutrients my body gave the baby came back into me, that was really meaningful, and very important. What my body gave the baby was given back to me. It was really nice that the placenta wasn’t thrown away, and went back into my body. That is an amazing concept and I’m glad Hand Waves Birth offered that service. Happy five years anniversary!
