ALLY & BRITTANY: Hello! Hello!
ALLY: On our social media, we asked you what you want to know more about. About us, our services, birth, pregnancy, and so on. Now we are here to answer different questions we got from you folks.
BRITTANY: Question from first person: Why is the topic of breastfeeding a taboo? Why don’t some people exclusively breastfeed? Are you looking for more people in your business?
ALLY: It is important for everyone to respect each other’s journey. Breastfeeding is a challenge, and we encourage everyone to normalize breastfeeding. Some people are made for this, some are not. Regardless of how we feed our babies, we should always support each other. Nobody is alone.
BRITTANY: This topic might be a taboo because not enough of us are talking about it. More stories should be shared including what the challenges are, our frustrations, what works for some, and what might work for others. No matter how our babies are fed, nobody should be shamed for how they do this. There are many ways to feed our babies: breastfeeding, formula, donor milk, Supplemental Nursing System (SNS)- nursing through a tube, wet nursing- having someone else breastfeed your baby, tandem nursing- feeding two babies at the same time. There are many different ways, it is important to support each other.
ALLY: Hand Waves Birth Services *sign* was founded by both of us. We have been doing great with just the two of us. Maybe we’ll expand the team down the road.
BRITTANY: We will answer the next question next week.
ALLY & BRITTANY: Stay tuned!
